Venue Research
Let us help you understand what kind of venue is right for you and your area. Leave it up to us to do the research, or feel free to check some places out independently. Below are some important elements we consider when selecting a venue.
Venue Types
We find that educational venues like Libraries, Colleges, Universities, Senior Centers, Recreation Centers or other types of educational venues work best when marketing for our education-based non-profit events.
Times of Day and Week
Our classes are most commonly taught on Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Although some of our members have found that other times of day and other days of the week have been successful for them, we recommend consulting with your AC when choosing dates that are too far off from the norm.
Capacity
Please keep in mind that when you are consulted on our average class #s, we are always counting households and over half of your class registrations could be 2 individuals. The venue selected will need to accommodate for the possibility of each registrant having a spouse or other guest join them at class.
Accessibility
Especially when selecting a college or a university for your venue, you want to be sure that the classroom to which you will be sending your students is easily accessible. Some campuses can be too large and too confusing, which could result in losing several registrations.
Available Resources
You always want to consider what makes you most comfortable when choosing to buy your own projector to bring to any venue, or if you want to rely on the venue to provide that for you. Always consider the following elements: the possible fees associated with equipment use at a venue, the comfort in knowing that you always have a projector you are comfortable with to use on any occasion, the possible elimination of some venue options because they cannot provide a screen and/or projector.
Non-Profit Discount
Your welcome packet, accessible from the Home page of this Members Only website includes our 501(c)(3) approval letter from the IRS. You can use this to prove our non-profit status to any venue. Many venues will let us use their rental spaces for free or at a discounted, non-profit rate.
